4th January 2010 - Accreditation of Redundant Apprentices Under the Recognition of Prior Learning FAS have decided to assess Apprentices that due to temporary lay-off or other reasons may have some gaps and have not completed their full four years but have successfully completed all seven phases of their apprenticeship. The requirements for eligibility is as follows: • They must be a minimum of three months redundant on the FAS System. • They must have completed all 7 phases of the apprenticeship. • They must be registered as an apprentice for a minimum period of four years. The local Services to Business Regions in FAS will be contacting any apprentices directly that may become eligible for the scheme. Therefore apprentices that are not working should ensure that their local Services to Business Section in FAS are aware that they are unemployed.
