Some 250 Technical Engineering and Electrical Union members working on the Corrib gas pipeline project at Belmullet joined the strike in defence of the Registered Employment Agreement today. TEEU National Organiser Charlie Prizeman said, “We had a brilliant turnout and spirits were high, despite the weather.
“It has given a fillip to our other members in the West. We have now put electrical contractors in the region on notice that pickets will continue until this dispute is resolved.”
