Where are the promised jobs from the Lisbon Treaty?

“Dear Colleagues,

Eamon Devoy Our members are living through difficult economic times that have been created by a small group of powerful and greedy individuals, such as bankers, politicians and certain employers. When we had the opportunity last year to hold these people to account in the run up to the Lisbon Treaty, the TEEU was one of the few Unions that used the opportunity to oppose the Treaty until such time as absolute assurances were given about workers rights and the retention of jobs. The referendum is over and all of the promises have been reneged on. Where are the promised jobs? The Government and the Employers have repudiated on our national agreements and living standards are being driven down.

Our members need to rally, unite and stand firm together as a Union if we are to have any hope of retaining and improving pay & conditions of employment. Members need to come together, attend at their Union branch meeting and have their voice heard. All our Branch Meetings are open meetings and all members are welcome.

Details of times and locations of our Branch Meetings are available under the Contact section of this website.

Remember, Unity is Strength and What We Have We Hold!"

Eamon Devoy General Secretary.
